Pavement Resurfacing

Asphalt resurfacing (also known as an asphalt overlay) is a cost-effective way to restore your asphalt pavement to the condition that it once was. Resurfacing is best suited for driveways that have been properly maintained over time, and still have a stable sub-base. If there is a lot of fatigue cracking on the lot, full-depth patching may need to take place before resurfacing. Basically, asphalt resurfacing is only as reliable as the base layer that it’s being installed over.

Sometimes negligence of proper maintenance can cause an asphalt driveway to become damaged beyond repair, and the only solution is to start fresh. Though sometimes, the actual problem could be much more critical. Pavement Repair | Payment Patching & Crack Repair

Like everything that is man-made, as it ages asphalt is susceptible to cracks and potholes. We specialize in the repairs and maintenance of residential and commercial driveways, aging parking lots, and roads.

Patching is the process of filling potholes or excavated areas in the asphalt pavement. Quick repair of potholes or other pavement disintegration helps control further deterioration and expensive repair of the pavement. Without timely patching, water can enter the subgrade and cause larger and more serious pavement failures.  DNR Construction will carry out a full site inspection. This is a free service we offer and we think it’s essential because our goal is to find what’s causing your asphalt damage before we tell you what we can do to fix it.

Crack sealing seals cracks preventing water getting into the pavement. Applied at the right time crack sealing will prevent or delay pothole formation.  Most cracks in asphalt pavements are working cracks, which means that they react to temperature changes by expanding and contracting. All this activity allows a crack to grow longer, wider, and deeper. When it rains, the water will drain into the open cracks, move downward, and erode the foundation. Within a relatively short time, the weakened foundation will allow additional cracks and potholes to form, and alligator cracking can occur over large areas of the pavement. Before the pavement even reaches the middle of its life expectancy, the damage can be so widespread that the only cost-effective remedy is to demolish the existing pavement and completely rebuild it. Pavement Milling

Milling asphalt means removing the upper layer of a road or drive to lay down new pavement. The milling process involves using heavy machinery to dig up the old, uneven ground and prepare it for the new. The main benefit of this process is that it removes surface irregularities and avoids raising the height of the roadway. Before resurfacing with the new hot mix asphalt, the underlayer of the pavement is swept for dust and cleaned.

Pavement Sealing

Seal coating protects the asphalt parking lot from damage caused by the sun’s rays. We use a coal tar emulsion sealer, it will protect the parking lot from surface unraveling caused by oil drips or gasoline spills. It prevents gas, oil, and weather damage. Sealing restores the original black color to asphalt.  Not only will a fresh layer of asphalt sealant improve your paving’s appearance, it’ll also add years to the operational life of your asphalt areas.
